3 government officers terminated by Congress ministry in Mizoram


AIZAWL: In its fight against corruption, the Congress ministry in Mizoram since their inception had terminated 3 government officers for indulging in corruption while 12 were suspended, official sources said today.

The Congress government led by Lal Thanhawla over thrown Mizo National Front (MNF) led by Zoramthanga during assembly poll on 2008 to rule over this tiny but one of the most peaceful state in India.

On Monday, the information revealed that during this period, 13 officers were convicted of indulging in corruption whereas the same number of officers were chargesheeted and 58 cases of corruption are still being  investigated by the concerned authority. Out of the 13 cases of  ‘convicted of corruption’ 9 were from the Supply Department.

State Vigilance Department in its reply to the People’s Right to Information and Development of Mizoram (PRISM)’s RTI Act revealed that the three officers who were terminated due to corruption were Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department-a Store Keeper, F.Lalchhuanawma; Trade & Commerce Department-a Marketig Officer, J.Lal-thantlinga and L.Rinsanga, MCS. And the 12 persons who were suspended were AH & Vety Director, Dr.C.Sangnghina; Excise & Narcotics-a Superintendent, H.Lalthianghlima; FCS & CA-a Store Keeper, Vanlalruata and S.Zoramsanga; Forest department-a RO, ZD Zonuntluanga; Health Services Director, Dr. N.Palai; Land Revenue & Settlement Department-a Jt. Director, S.Rolianthanga; L.Rinsanga, MCS; Lalbiaksangi, MCS; Lalrempuii Fanai, MCS; Home Gurd-a Platoon Commander, Vanlal- mawia; Rural development-a UDC, Lalchhandama.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mizoram is keeping effort to curb corruption in the state having its headquarters at Aizawl and functions under the overall control and supervision of the Director, ACB. The Bureau is under the administrative control of Vigilance Department and under the overall guidance and supervision of the Chief Secretary-cum-Chief Vigilance Officer.
