At least 15 people, including a child, were killed and several others 
were injured when a Mizoram state transport bus fell into a deep gorge 
about 123 kms northeast of the state capital today.      Police said six
 women, a child and the bus driver were among those killed in the 
mishap.      'While ten of them died on the spot, five others succumbed 
to their injuries at Darlawn hospital,' a source from Darlawn hospital 
said. The condition of five of the injured passengers was stated to be 
critical, sources  added.      The bus carrying 34 passengers was 
proceeding from Aizawl to Vaitin village near the Manipur border. 
Sources said the driver was taking a short cut from a fair-weather road 
but it had become slippery following heavy rainfall and the bus fell 
into the gorge, about 300 metres from the  road.      It was still 
raining hard when rescue operation was being carried out by Darlawn 
police and the locals.
