Earlier, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, who also holds the finance portfolio, laid the vote-on-account of Rs 1354.27 crores for the first four months of the fiscal 2010-11, due to late finalization of the state annual plan size by the Planning Commission.
The House also unanimously passed today the supplementary demand for grants for the year 2010-11 amounting to Rs 817.11 crore rpt crore.
The budget session, which began on March 22, passed important bills and resolutions, including an official resolution of Home Minister R Lalzirliana seeking substitution of Any Mizo (Lushai) tribes as written in the serial number 10 of the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950 by ''Any Mizo tribes'', and that of opposition member K Liantlinga, seeking for opening up of potential riverine forest reserves for cultivation of rice and other cash crops.
It also passed the Mizoram Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Third Amendment) Bill 2011, the Mizoram Board of School Education (Amendment) Bill 2011, the Mizoram Compulsory Registration of Marriages (Amendment) Bill 2011, and The Mizoram Municipality (Amendment) Bill 2011, among others.
