Militant outfit warns Manipur CM on 'state violence'

Imphal, Feb 13 : A militant organisation here today asked Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to stop the "state (sponsored) terrorism" by February 20 failing which his government would have to face consequences.

In a statement here, People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) demanded the chief minister to instruct police and security forces "to stop killing innocent persons in the name of fighting militants".

The outfit alleged that the Manipur has become a society of "widows and orphans" because of "state terrorism", saying the "chief minister was a silent spectator" on the issue.

The group also warned of targeting the police if the deadline was not met. It has given a list of people who were allegedly killed by security personnel in recent weeks.

The Prepak had exploded grenades near the Chief Minister's official residence in September and October last year, official sources said.
