supremacy in the sport among North-East states, by taming hosts Sikkim
10-9 via tie-breaker in Gangtok's Paljor Stadium. R. Laldanmawia drew
first blood in 14th minute and Sikkim equalised in 81st through Thupden
Tshering Bhutia. Mizoram scored 9 times in the shootout while Sikkim
managed 8. All eight states of the region took part in the eight-day
tournament named after the country's first football skipper. Ao led the
team to the 1948 London Olympics.
