Aizawl, Sep 19 (PTI) Union Minister for Culture Kumari
Selja today said that an Amphitheatre would be constructed in
Mizoram with funds provided by the Ministry of Culture. Selja, who also holds Housing and Urban Poverty
Alleviation made the announcement while inaugurating the first
Mini-Sports Complex at Chite locality here which was
constructed at the cost of Rs 639.85 lakh with fund from the
HUPA ministry. She said that the Centre had been giving priority to the
north eastern states and would spare no efforts in capacity
building and training of the youths from the region in sports
and other sectors. The Mini Sports Complex has an open football ground, the
size of 110 metres by 46 metres a pavilion building for indoor
games and other facilities for sports persons. Selja, who arrived here to attend the Conclave on Urban
Poverty Alleviation for North Eastern States and Sikkim
yesterday, and left for Delhi today.
