Rev. Dr. L.R. Colney, a missionary to central India graced this important event as the speaker, a local vernacular daily newspaper Saiha Herald reported today.
The theme of the Mission Convention was 'The harvest is plentiful' (Luke 10:2); it was presided in turn by Rev. Thyulua Hlychho, Rev. Ithra Tluma and Elder (Macha) S. Zaluaia.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. L.R. Colney said that since the harvest is plentiful, it is not enough to preach and speak about God's words and the gospel inside Church alone but it must be done on the roads, roadsides, homes, while travelling and wherever it is convenient. "That kind of time has come, and we must do it with passion," he said.
"We must speak more about the story of Our Lord Jesus Christ because the ones who come to faith that we witnessed often heard about it from their Christian friends. Therefore, preaching the word of God inside the Churches alone is not enough," the speaker said.
Rev. Dr. L.R. Colney also said that he was invited to preach in England but the invitation that came from ECM Assembly resolution was bigger in his mind; therefore, he had cancelled the programme in England but the Church in England also did not want to miss the opportunity of hosting him and they have altered or extended the programme. Saiha Herald correspondent learned that the Reverend will leave for London later this week.
At this convention, choirs from different local Churches like ECM New Colony, Siaha Vaihpi, Meisavaih, New Saiha, Bethel, ECM Assembly choir and also Gospel Outreach Ministry (GoM) presented various songs.
During this convention, seminar was often held day time; it was led by the speaker and his team.
It is learned that the mission convention was well attended by mission enthusiasts who keep swelling night after night and the Churches in the area had greatly benefited from the convention.
