Cold wave continued to grip the state with the temperature dipping to six degrees celsius, the sources said.
Dr Vanlalzara, Principal Scientific Officer in the Science and Technology wing of the state planning department said the lowest temperature was recorded on Friday with a minimum of 6.2 degree celsius and a maximum of 23.2 degree celsius.
At least 17 houses were destroyed when rains accompanied by the hailstorm lashed Sakawrdai and Vanbawng villages since Sunday, the sources said.
Four houses at Sakawrdai village were completely damaged and beyond repair, the sources said.
The cold and foggy weather also affected flights in the lone Lengpui airport near here with frequent delays and cancellations of flights to and from Kolkata and Guwahati during the past few days.
