Dhaula Kuan rapists to be charged within 30 days

New Delhi, Dec 14 – Delhi Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta Monday assured that a charge sheet in the gangrape of a 30-year old BPO employee last month will be filed within 30 days.

‘The charge sheet, which normally takes 90 days to be filed, will be filed within 30 days in the Dhaula Kuan case,’ Gupta told reporters after a meeting with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Women’s Commission chief Barkha Singh, and members from some NGOs.

‘After that we will approach the law department of the Delhi government for the case to be given to a fast track court,’ he said.

The BPO employee from Mizoram was kidnapped and gang-raped by five men after she was dropped by her office cab late at night near her home in south Delhi. All the five accused have been arrested.
