Nano technology centre opened in Sikkim

RANGPO, Feb 16 : Sikkim Manipal University Vice Chancellor Dr K Jayakumar yesterday inaugurated the International Centre for Nano Technology and Applied Adhesion (ICNTAA) and National Seminar on applied Nano Technology (NSAN) at the premises of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, near here.

The VC also inaugurated the demonstration centre of ICNTAA and visited the exhibition hall. Welcoming the guests, Director SMIT, Retd Brig Somnath Mishra congratulated all the members and students for organizing such a fruitful seminar at the institute.

Dr Jayakumar highlighted the importance of Nanotechnology in this century while Dr S Bhowmik from the Netherlands presented a power point presentation on applied nanotechnology. Dr Satyanarayan from Syngene International, Bangalore also presented a power point presentation on polymer synthesis.

A power point presentation on polymeric nanocomposites and what we can do in the nanoworld were presented by Dr T Chaki from IIT Kharagpur and Dr Arun Chattopadhyay from IIT Guwahati respectively.
