"We thank the vice chancellor Varun Sahni for taking up the issue of granting central university status to Jammu University during his meeting with the Governor and Chancellor of the university N N Vohra", JKNCSU President Mohammad Irfan Qureshi told reporters here.
Claiming that the University fulfils all the criteria for being granted the status, he said the union will also raise the issue with the J-K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
