BRO clarifies on report

Imphal, January 29: Referring to the news item published on January 25 issue under the headline "BRO demands NHs responsibilities", the Hqs 25 BRTF has clarified that no demand can be initiated by BRO/25 BRTF on its own as the task of BRO is only to execute works allotted by the Government, conveyed a press release.

It said that the decision of the State Cabinet not to hand over the NH to BRO was not known to BRTF while issuing the said letter.

Informing that BRO has inducted extra resources in Manipur to meet the need for fast infrastructure development, it said that 25 BRTF of the BRO has been placed in the service of the people of Manipur while pledging that it will continue to render the services as per directions of the Government of India in conjunction with the State Government.
