“We will soon come up with an appropriate policy to encourage our employees working in tough terrains and inaccessible areas so that they are rightly compensated,” stated the Chief Minister.
Khandu’s pronouncement to this effect came in the backdrop of reported instances of ‘improper performance’ of the local employees and their ‘city-centric attitude’ who prefer to remain in district headquarters, thereby compelling the people of remote and inaccessible areas to suffer a lot. The poor villagers have to walk down miles away from hilly terrains in getting their petty works, like issuance and renewal of trading licences, arms licences, etc.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering at Parang, located under Sagalee sub-division of Papum Pare district yesterday.
Earlier, Khandu inaugurated a well-built steel girder bridge over river Parang and laid the foundation stone of a 6 MW Hydro Electric Project at Parang village.
